Harry Hickton is ready to come out all guns blazing this weekend (24-25 May) as he looks to bounce back from a disappointing season-opener and really kick-start his MINI CHALLENGE JCW season at Snetterton.
The Mannpower Motorsport driver found himself out of luck when the campaign began at Donington Park last month and he ultimately left the Leicestershire venue with just a solitary top-six finish to his name.
Having had time to reflect on the opening three races of the new season, last year’s MINI CHALLENGE Trophy title winner has stated he won’t be dwelling on that misfortune and instead is solely focused on punching in three solid results in Norfolk.
Hickton - who is backed by Maber Construction, Hysons Chartered Accountants, The Platform Lift Company, Vernham Labels, Woodstock Plumbing and Heating Supplies, MDH Roofing & Son, Vertex VT Consultants, GSF Car Parts and DPH Services - has fond memories of the track too.
On his way to championship glory last season in the Trophy category, the 18-year-old swept aside the opposition at Snetterton to tally two commanding race wins, adding a further podium finish for good measure.
Harry Hickton: “I’m really looking forward to getting back racing and seeing what we can do. Donington Park didn’t go to plan at all so the way I see it, my 2025 season well and truly starts at Snetterton this weekend.
“As a team we showed that we have a lot of pace and potential so the aim this weekend is to showcase that even more and convert it into three big results. The competition is fierce in JCWs this year but we’re more than capable of fighting right at the front.
“Hooking a lap up in qualifying is going to be as important as ever so if we can do that then we’ll set ourselves up well for the races. I want three big points-scoring finishes and if we can also grab some silverware that’ll be even better.”
Qualifying at Snetterton goes down at 10:10 on Saturday before the opening encounter takes place later that afternoon at 13:55. Two more races - at 09:20 and 13:25 - will follow on Sunday, the second of which will be aired live on ITV4.
