Harry Hickton will look to close out his maiden season in the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW on a high this weekend (4-5 October) as the one-make series prepares to take centre stage at Brands Hatch.

Bringing the curtain down on a campaign that has been packed with both highs and lows, the Mannpower Motorsport driver will head to the Kent venue riding a wave of momentum after clinching his first overall podium of the year last time out at Silverstone.

After coming oh-so close to silverware on a number of occasions, the 19-year-old finally broke his duct around the Home of British Motor Racing with a sublime drive in the weekend’s third and final contest.

Now, having had a taste of champagne, last year’s MINI CHALLENGE Trophy champion is fully focused on adding to his trophy collection by finishing with a flourish around the iconic Grand Prix layout of Brands Hatch.

Overall podiums won’t be the only target for Hickton either as the Hampshire racer remains in mathematical contention for the coveted Rookie Cup. In addition, he can also still secure a top-five finish in the Drivers’ Championship.

Harry Hickton: “It’s hard to believe that we’re at the end of the season already as it feels like it was only a few weeks ago that we were lining up at Donington Park for the opening rounds of the year.

“To be heading to Brands Hatch having scored my first overall podium is the shot in the arm that myself and Mannpower Motorsport needed and now I have on target that I want to achieve that’s win a race.

“Last year I made my debut in a JCW car on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit and having that experience will be hugely beneficial going into this weekend. I’m fired up, ready to get on the attack and will be throwing everything behind taking home a win.

“Obviously we’re in with a shout of the Rookie Cup Championship too but realistically we need some bad luck to fall the way of Max Edmundson. The best thing for me to do is go out there, focus on doing the best I can and if the results end up falling my way then that’s great.”

Qualifying at Brands Hatch goes down at 11:20 on Saturday before race one takes place later that afternoon at 16:30. Two more races - at 12:05 and 16:00 - will then follow on Sunday, with coverage being broadcast live on ITV4 and ITVX.
