Mannpower Motorsport’s Harry Hickton has silverware in his sights this weekend (2-3 August) as the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE JCW season resumes at Croft Circuit following the series’ annual six-week summer break.

Having had time to reflect on what has been a rollercoaster campaign to-date in the competitive tin top series, the 18-year-old is fired up to get back behind the wheel - and the aim is to hit the ground running from the get-go at the North Yorkshire venue.

The talented teenager made the step up to the JCW category this year after clinching the 2024 Trophy title however despite showing eye-catching speed at all rounds, luck has so far alluded Hickton from really making his mark.

Backed by Maber Construction, Hysons Chartered Accountants, The Platform Lift Company, Vernham Labels, Woodstock Plumbing and Heating Supplies, MDH Roofing & Son, Vertex VT Consultants, GSF Car Parts and DPH Services - he’s looking to change that this weekend.

With a best finish of fifth place to his name so far, the Hampshire-born racer is confident that a first outright visit to the podium can be achieved over the course of the coming weekend.

Harry Hickton: “While it’s been nice to enjoy some time with friends and family, the summer break has felt like an eternity so its great to know that I’ll be strapped into the car and racing this weekend.

“The break has given me and the team the opportunity to look back on everything that did and didn’t go so well over the first half of the season. It’s been a really positive process and I now head into the remainder of the year in a really good head space.

“We’ve demonstrated on several occasions that we have the speed to run at the very front of the field and going to Croft that’s what I want to do. If we can hook up the lap in qualifying and put ourselves on those first few rows of the grid then it’s game on.

“I’m desperate to stand on that podium and will be giving it everything I’ve got to do just that this coming weekend."

Qualifying at Croft goes down at 10:45 on Saturday before the opening encounter takes place later that afternoon at 14:50. One more race - at 15:35 - will follow on Sunday, which will be aired live on ITV4 and ITVX.
